Commercial split-system air conditioner upgrades in Victoria
Air conditioners are power-hungry appliances. This is even more true in commercial spaces. Refrigeration and air conditioning appliances and equipment were responsible for about 12 percent of Australia’s total greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) in 2020 — including indirect emissions of the energy used to power the appliances.
Air conditioning alone accounts for about 50 percent of the total energy usage in businesses.
To meet the climate action targets of 45 to 50 percent emission reduction by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2045 (compared to 2005 levels), substantial rebates are being offered for businesses on reverse cycle split system air conditioner upgrades under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program of the state government of Victoria.
