The Rinnai’s 18kw ducted air conditioner outdoor unit (DONSR18B1) and indoor units (DINLR18B1) are approved under Activity 6 – Installation of a high efficiency air-conditioner. Installation of this reverse cycle air conditioning unit will create Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs), allowing VEU program accredited installers to offer Victoria households and businesses a discount on the aircon unit price, based on current price of VEEC at the time of installation.

Eligibility Conditions
To be eligible for Rinnai ducted air conditioner rebate under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program, the following conditions must be met:
- Installation must be arranged through a VEU program accredited provider/installer.
- The air conditioner unit must be listed on the VEU Register of Approved Products.
- The product should meet performance, efficiency, warranty, and space conditioning standards as defined in the VEU Specifications.
- The air conditioner must meet the minimum heating and cooling efficiency requirements, including Air conditioner COP and Air conditioner EER.
- The construction of your property must have been completed at least two years before installation if the upgrade involves decommissioning an existing air conditioning unit.
- A minimum 5-year warranty against defects should be provided by the air conditioner manufacturer.
- All installation and decommissioning work involving plumbing, electrical, and refrigerant handling must be performed by a VBA licensed plumber, an Energy Safe licensed electrician, and an ARC licensed technician, respectively.
- Decommissioning of an old air conditioner must be carried out in compliance with EPA waste management rules.
